Carat Entertainment (Hangul: 캐럿 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean Wizarding entertainment company established in 2022 by wife and husband duo Yoon Minah and Kang Jaemin. It is currently one of the largest Wizarding entertainment companies in South Korea. The company operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publishing house.
The company houses popular artists such as Europa, Sky, Dream, and Prince, and formerly to artists such as Melody, Victoria, Spectrum's Taehyun, and Yunan.
History[]
Yoon Minah was known as the main vocalist of Vitamin Entertainment's girl group Diary. During the groups' active years, she enjoyed a popularity among her group's fans and among the general public, and she was mainly known for her OSTs, most notably, 모래 (Sand) for the K-Drama You Make My Day. However, internal conflict among the members, as well as between their company, had the group disbanded in 2020 after eight years and one final album, Epilogue.
After the disbandment, Minah was still very young. At a mere twenty-three years of age, she had started and finished a career that many idols could only dream of. She made headlines the following year when her engagement to Kang Jaemin, a well known producer, was announced. 2022 brought about her marriage and the founding of Carat Entertainment. At a press conference, Minah's intentions with her newly-found company was made clear, with her saying, "What I want my company to do is to find hidden gems and to present them to the world so they can truly live up to the name of Carat."
Almost immediately, Minah and Jaemin began recruiting for their first group, a girl group that had a strong and feminine concept. Over the course of the next two years, 12 girls joined the company and eventually were all debuted into Carat's debut group, Europa.
